(More customer reviews)When I first received this book from Amazon, I must say that I was a little disappointed. THEN...I started actually taking the time to read through it and discovered some wonderful gems! It is a basic book in presentation - no photos (which doesn't concern me), and very basic paper stock. Don't let this put you off. It contains all the 'staple' Indian recipes plus some, through 13 chapters - Snacks, Savoury Starters 1 and 2, Breads, Rice Dishes, Side Dishes, Meat Main Dishes, Poultry and Fish Dishes, Vegetable Main Dishes, Pulse Main Dishes, Accompaniments, Sweet Dishes and Drinks. I currently have 'Meat Sak' (page 114) cooking on the stove and the whole house smells great! All of the ingredients are readily available in the stores and don't be concerned about buying a packet of something strange - you will cook from this book many many times! The instructions are very clear and very easy - not much effort for such great tasting food. At the current price, it is an absoulte bargain, so why not just throw it in with your other books?
